Join us for this annual event in May!

For over 12 years the Fargo Birding Festival has brought together families, nature lovers, and birders of every experience level together to enjoy the hundreds of species of migratory and resident birds flying around in the Fargo-Moorhead community.

Fargo Birding Festival
SATURDAY, MAY 14, 2022 AT 7 AM – 11 AM
Forest River Park

Join the Fargo Park District and Audubon Dakota for a morning of birds and binoculars in beautiful South Fargo. This birding festival is held in Forest River Park, which is designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society and Birdlife International, joining a global network of the most important sites for birds. 

All skill levels are welcome and no registration is required for this free event. Bring your family out and learn about birding from experts, courtesy of Audubon Dakota. This year, the Fargo Public Library is providing a bird-themed activity for kids to enjoy. Don't forget to bring a pair of binoculars, a limited number is provided. 

Winter Birding Festival
Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM 
Forest River Park

 

Cold is cool! An official Frostival event, the Winter Birding Festival is a fun and educational event providing families and community members an opportunity to get outside each winter to learn about the many over-wintering birds in the Fargo-Moorhead community.

 

The Winter Birding Festival is for all skill levels and usually takes place in mid-late January or early February. Be sure to follow Frostival events in the Fargo-Moorhead region to learn more about this festival.
